First time in my new house

It’s been almost a year since I decided to buy a new house in the Funenpark. And with NEW I mean NEW from the ground up. The building of the appartments has started in June 2006.
So after 5 months the skeleton of the building is ready. And to my surprise the fences were open this weekend and I was able to walk/cycle on the building ground.

I made some pictures of the surroundings and I cycled nearer and nearer to my building. There was a small Van standing and i saw some workers in another building. I tried to not get their attention because I was not suppose to be there. The ground was muddy but luckily I was on my mountain bike so I did not get my feed dirty.
When I was near the building, I thought what the heck I can just walk right in. When I made my first steps in the building my heart was pumping me full with adrenaline and I quickly went two stairs up. I had to think about the floor plan because it’s always different when you see IT in real life. But the building is not that big so I was quickly in my new apartment.

Wooow I thought this is gonna be my house. I quickly made lots of pictures . And before I knew it I was standing outside. It was kind of a rush and I did not want to be catch-ed by some worker who just happens to be there. But I am very, very happy that I did it and I’m happy with the pictures i took. And in the end I can make a nice photo album which is gonna be called:”The building of my new house”.

Impressive examples of the YUI

I’ve been developing with the Yahoo! UI library for quite a while now. I mainly use it’s event utility. It has made my code much cleaner and easier to maintain. Although it can always be done better off course.

The main site I’ve used for good working examples/explanations is the site of Dustin Diaz. With some nice Video Tutorial Screencasts listed on his site. Also read his post on think Vitamin 15 Things you can do with Yahoo! UI

But a really impressive site i just saw is the site of Jack Slocum. Jack Slocum has made his own extensions for the Yahoo! UI with some impressive results. Read this post about “Exploring Cross-browser Web 2.0 Layouts with Yahoo! UI”. And the beauty of it all is that we can use it to.

When you’re done reading on his blog, you can read this interview at the official blog of the Yahoo! UI.
